The Dung Quất refinery, located in Vietnam’s Quảng Ngãi Province, was originally planned in 1998 with the primary motivation to produce refined fuel domestically. Construction began in November 2005, and the project was finished in early 2009. The Dung Quất refinery began Production in February, 2009 (Hydrocarbons Technology, 2014).
